阅读社成立的目的：通过阅读杂志上文章和实时新闻来锻炼批判性的思维的能力，在阅读的时候也可以从一天中的学习压力中放松自己。批判性思维的主要能力分成六个部分：解释，分析，评估，推论，说明和自我校准。除了通过阅读养成批判性思维，阅读社，同样也是一个包含课业讲解的社团。成员可以带着自己学业上困惑和问题来到社团来寻求大家的帮助去尝试解决自己的学术性问题。

The reading club consists this kind of goal: cultivating the ability to do critical thinking through reading articles from magazines and real-time news, also relax from daily schoolwork through reading. The club’s slogan is: “Make reading a joy, not a torture!” The ability to do critical thinking can be narrow down into six smaller portions: explain, analysis, assess, deduce, present, and self-revise. Besides nurturing critical thinking, the reading club is also a club consists schoolwork interpretations. Club members are allowed to bring enigmas and questions to the club and seek for help and farther explanation on the school courses’ topic and try to overcome the hurdles blocking their way.

这里是辩论社。我们致力于传播辩论文化，培养学生们的思辨精神。我们的辩论教学模式将契合NSDA（全美辩论联赛）的教学理念，争取为学生们创造一个良好的学习辩论的环境。在过去的一个学年里我们对社团的成员们进行了基础的辩论培训。这个学年我们将计划举办一场校内辩论比赛。这将让校内的同学们对辩论有更深刻的认识，也能够培养同学们对辩论的兴趣。

This is the Debate club. We are in charge of spreading the culture of debate and training the critical thinking skills of the students. Our method of teaching debate is based on ideas of the NSDA (National Speech and Debate Association), since we want to bring the students a good debating environment. Last year we gave a basic training of debate to our members. This year we are managing to hold a debate competition in school. This will provide a better understanding to the students and make some of them find their interest of debate.

A Capella is a choir with only voices and no accompaniment, and we sing it in pure vocal choruses. Our club had performed in several important events. Anyone interested in singing and music is welcome to join us.

Key club is a community service club that provides its members with opportunities to serve, build character, and develop leadership. We have been learning how to lead and stand for what’s right  through service and volunteerism making positive impact as we serve others in schools and communities.

Global Sustainer 是2019年由陈天华创办人创办的保护环境社团，是因为他想保护环境，支持和为贫穷儿童捐款。在上海 Global Sustainer社团是拥有两个校区的分部，总部是位于北松 公路1250号美高双语学校，分部是西外外国语学校。作为社长的陈天华，他想要让这个社团 面对不同学校的学生和老师。在学校的社团时间，他会和社团内的同学和指导老师讨论活动 的筹备和计划社区活动和课外活动。

Global Sustainer is an environmental advocacy group established by Tony Chen in 2019, because he wants to protect the environment by supporting and donating money to poor children. The Global Sustainer society in Shanghai is a division with two campuses, headquartered in Meigao Bilingual School, 1250 Beisong Road, with a division of Xiwai Foreign Language School.As President, Tony Chen wants to make the club accessible to students and teachers from different schools. During club hours at school, he would discuss with fellow students and instructors about the preparation and planning of community activities and extracurricular activities.

乐队欢迎热爱音乐的同学加入，在这里你能交到一群志趣相投的朋友。这学期我们准备在学校各大活动上进行表演以及在校外进行公益演出。如果你有熟练演奏乐器的技能或者有兴趣担当主唱欢迎来到乐队！

Welcome music lovers to join us, you can make friends who shall the same interests here. In the club you can develop your musical skill and have the opportunity to perform to the public. This year we plan to have performance in the school and some Charity shows out of school.

Geek Club致力于研究机器人和模型，以及无人机的驾驶技术。社团的平日任务是制作不同物品的模型，以及在合适的场地驾驶无人机。我们也会参加一些机器人比赛，比如RoBoCup，FRC等。

Geek Club is a club dedicated to the study of robots, models and drone piloting technology.

The club's daily tasks are to make models of different objects and to fly drones in safe condition. We will also take part in the annual robot competition like RoBoCup, FRC.

电影社创立的初衷是为了给学生一种安静，舒适的环境看电影，练习英语，以及学习电影里主角的讲话方式，这对于提升口语有非常大的好处，而学生看完一章电影后需要写下来对这篇电影的感受，这同时提升了同学们的表达能力以及写作能力。

作为电影社的社长，我会尽可能给大家提供舒适的观影环境，而在2019年的时候，电影社是唯一一个被学校允许在工作日去校外举行社团活动的社团，2020年我也会给学生们提供校外活动的机会，以及舒适，集中的学习环境。

Founded film club is designed to give students a quiet and comfortable environment to the movies, to practice English, and learning character in the movie style of speaking, it is very big benefit to improve oral English, and students need to write down after finish see chapter film feel about this movie, it also improved the students' expression ability and writing ability.

As the President of the Film club, I will try my best to provide everyone with a comfortable movie-watching environment. In 2019, the film Club is the only one allowed by the school to hold extracurricular activities on weekdays. In 2020, I will also provide students with opportunities for extracurricular activities as well as a comfortable and concentrated learning environment.

Dance club can enrich students' after-school cultural life, relieve the tense learning atmosphere, and cultivate some art lovers. Readymade is a platform for talented individuals to learn, collaborate and share knowledge.Fifty percent of the club members are art students.To improve students' organizational ability, cross-border cooperation ability and professional skills. We are painting club. Our community mainly draws some anime or sketch. It is a very positive extracurricular activity to provide a platform for art loving students to learn and show themselves, improve themselves and communicate with each other. This Cosmetic Science Club is mainly about gathering anyone who loves cosmetics and wants to know more about this industry. We will be mainly focused on three parts, the ingredients, color arranging and design, and the economic trends in this cosmetic industrial. We will be learning about how each ingredient work and what kind of people suits what kind of ingredient. Come and talk about cosmetics with us.

This is the badminton club. We welcome all students who are interested in badminton to join us. Exercise students' bodies in the gym and promote the friendship and cooperation between students (because some movements need to help each other to complete).  

这是个学习电脑编程语言（java）的社团。在社团中，主要是由社长教成员们学会自己编程一个简易游戏，和电脑编程的基本概念。当然，不是单方面的听一个人在上面讲，当一个单元结束后，社长还会和成员一起以一个小组的形式来写程序（根据单元的内容）。每个人都将得到自己的工作。进度将会相对放松。

This is a club for learning the computer programming language (Java). In the club, I mainly taught the members how to program a simple game and the basic concepts of computer programming. Of course, instead of listening to one person on one side, When a unit is finished, I will write the program with the members as a group (according to the unit content). Everyone will get his or her own job. Progress will be relatively relaxed.
